RESOLUTION NO. 1514
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SANTA CLARA COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS TO RESCIND THEIR RESOLUTION ORDERING
CONSOLIDATION OF GILROY SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD NOVEMBER 3, 1970
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Gilroy,
California, that
WHEREAS, this Council had heretofore requested that the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara order the con-
solidation of a special municipal election to be held in the
City of Gilroy with the State of California General Election to
be held November 3, 1970; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors has ordered such con-
solidation by its resolution adopted August 25, 1970; and
WHEREAS, the need for holding and conducting said special
municipal election has been obviated.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That this Council requests that the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Santa Clara rescind its resolution order-
ing the consolidation of a Gilroy special municipal election
with the State of California General Election to be held Novem-
ber 3, 19r{0.
2. That the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy is hereby
directed to transmit certified copies of this resolution to the
Board of Supervisors and the other appropriate officials of the
County of Santa Clara.
