RESOLUTION NO. 1532
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ALLOCATION OF ADDITIONAL TOPICS FUNDS AND
REQUESTING ADDITIONAL ALLOCATION FROM CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMIS-
SION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF LEWIS STREET-FOURTH STREET AND
MONTEREY STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Monte Sereno informed Mr. Alan S. Hart, District Engineer,
Division of Highways,San Francisco, to the effect that that City wi 11 be unable to
make use of its TOPICS apportionments for the 1969-70 and 1970-71 Fiscal Years in
total amount of $6,079.00; and
WHEREAS, the TOPICS Advisory Committee and the Division of Highways have
requested that the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors (hereinafter called
"Board") acting in the capaci ty of Coordinating Agent for the urban areas of Santa
Clara County furnish a recommendation as to which agency in Santa Clara can make
best use of these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Board has recommended that these funds be allocated to the City
of Gilroy (hereinafter called IIGi1roy"); and
WHEREAS, Gilroy has requested by City Resolution Number 1436 on January 19,
1970 an allocation of TOPICS funds in the amount of $19,242.00 from the California
Highway Commission for a TOPICS project (hereinafter called "Project") at the
specific location of "Lewis-Fourth" Street and "Monterey'l Street (hereinafter
ca 11 ed "Loca t i on"); and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City of Gilroy as follows:
1. That Gilroy does hereby confirm said Board's recommendation that
$6,079.00 of unc1aime~ TOPICS funds be allocated to Gilroy.
2. That Gilroy does hereby request the California Highway Commission to
allocate sufficient funds pursuant to Section I, Chapter 6 (commen-
cing with Section 2300), Division 3 of the Streets and Highways Code
for the project at the location; Gilroy does further request the
Commission to allocate for the Fiscal Year 70-71 the additional sum

Santa Clara, State of California, on this 16th day of November, 1970, by the
