Resolution 1327-3 RESOLUTION NO. l327-3 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING MISS ANA ALVARADO. WHEREAS~ MISS ALVARADO has traveled many miles from her home at Ovieda Mota~ Mexico to attend school at Gilroy~ California~ U.S.A.; and WHEREAS~ she has conveyed to many citizens of Gilroy an improved insight and appreciation of her own Nation; and WHEREAS~ she has~ in turn~ come to better know the people of our community and will be prepared~ upon her return to her own home land~ to express the goodwill all Gilroyans have for peoples of all lands; and WHEREAS~ the Gilroy City Council appreciates the person to person and nation to nation contacts provided by student exchange programs and believes that they provide a constructive approach to the American ideal of extending goodwill and understanding to all responsible and moral people throughout the world regardless of their race~ creed~ or religions; NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED~ that on this 7th day of April~ 1969~ the Gilroy City Council~ in its entire majority~ does hereby honor Miss Ana Alvarado and entrusts her to act as a Goodwill Ambassador representing the City of Gilroy~ California~ United States of America. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April~ 1969~ by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Duffin,Kennedy,Quartiroli,Wentworth, and Goodrich.
