RESOLUTION NO. 13J2
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING MR. GEORGE ARCHER, GOLF PRO-
FESSIONAL.
WHEREAS, Mr. George Archer Is a resident of the Greater Gilroy
area; and
WHEREAS, his many successes in national golf tournaments have
brought international fame and favorable notoriety to himself and GJI-
roy; and
WHEREAS, his most recent victory, at the Masters Golf Tournament,
Augusta National Golf Club, was a stellar effort in coming from behind
to win Golfdom's most outstanding tournament;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the People and City Council
of Gilroy, California, do hereby honor and recognize Mr. George Archer
as an outstanding person, athlete, and citizen; and further recognizes
that Mr. Archer is a credit to our community and nation;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the People hereby extend their
best wishes to Mr. Archer for a long and successful career; and the G11-
roy City Council hereby appoints George Archer as Honorary Mayor and Good-
will Ambassador of the City of Gilroy with all rights and prlviledges of
these offices being extended to Mr. Archer.
