RESOLUTION NO. 1405
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
REQUESTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC WORKS TO REQUIRE PRESENTATION OF A
CERTIFICATE OF ZONING COMPLIANCE
WHEREAS, Article 4.5 of Chapter 2, Division 3 of the
Business and Professions Code of the State of California does
provide for a "certificate of zoning compliance" procedure
whereby new advertising displays must be found in accord with
local zoning requirements; and
WHEREAS, said Article further provides that this require-
ment shall be imposed upon request by a resolution adopted by
the governing body of any city, county, or city and county;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy deems it to be
in the best interest of the City to require the issuance of
certificates of zoning compliance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby request
the State of California Director of Public Works to require the
presentation of a certificate of zoning compliance pursuant to
Section 5251, Article 4.5, Chapter 2, Division 3 of the
Business and Professions Code for new advertising displays to
be constructed within the City, with such applications for
said certificate to be filed with and acted upon by the City
Engineer.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of October, 1969, by the
