RESOLUTION NO. 1414
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY INITIATING POSSIBLE AMENDMENT OF
SECTIONS 32.9 AND 33.9 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Sections 32.9 and 33.9 of the Zoning Ordinance
provide that if commercial zoning be approved by the City,
but that if said rezoned land is not thereafter developed
within a three-year period, the Planning Commission, on its
own initiative, may institute hearings to rezone said
property to its original zoning classification, and
WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Planning Commission
the Council believes it would be desirable to rezone said
property either to its original classification, or in the
alternative, to rezone it in conformance with the Gilroy
General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Gilroy that the Planning Commission of the City
of Gilroy be directed to initiate possible amendment of
Sections 32.9 and 33.9 of the Zoning Ordinance to provide
that if rezoning be instituted on the motion of the Planning
Commission as set forth above, said property may be rezoned
either to its original classification, or to the zoning
classification indicated on the General Plan for the City of
Gilroy, and that the Planning Commission set a public hearing
for that purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 1969, by
the following vote:
