RESOLUTION NO. 1416
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
PROHIBITING PARKING ON MONTEREY STREET FOR A
DISTANCE OF 350 FEET NORTH AND 250 FEET SOUTH OF
ITS INTERSECTION WITH TENTH STREET IN THE CITY
OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, many accidents have occurred in recent months
at the intersection of Monterey and Tenth Streets in the City
of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, a traffic study and review by the State Division
of Highways indicates that left turn lanes on Monterey Street
North and South of its intersection with Tenth Street will
help to correct this dangerous condition and are warranted
for installation by the State, and
WHEREAS, parking on Monterey Street must be prohibited
for a distance of 350 feet North and 250 feet South of its
intersection with Tenth Street in order to provide the space
necessary for the installation of said left turn lanes by
the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That all parking is prohibited on the easterly and westerly
sides of Monterey Street for a distance of 350 feet North and
250 feet South of its intersection with Tenth Street, and
That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the State
Division of Highways.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 1969, by
the following vote:
