RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION RELATING TO THE DETACHMENT OF
TERRITORY FROM THE GILROY RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DIS-
TRICT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy;
1. That it does hereby request the Santa Clara County Local
Agency Formation Commission to approve the detachment of the territory
described in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and made a part of this Reso-
lutfon, from the Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
2. That the ~pro})Osal is made plJrsuant to the DIstrict Reorganization
Act of 1965.
3. That the territory proposed to be detached is uninhabited.
4. That it is desired that the proposed detachment provide for
and be made subJect to the following terms and conditions;
None.
5. That the reasons for this application are:
The territory described in "Exhibit N' has been
annexed to the City of Gilroy. City is prepared
to assume fire protection services in this ter-
r i tory.
6. That it is hereby requested that proceedings be taken for the
detachment hereinabove proposed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to file a
certified copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of the Santa
Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy on this
2nd day of January, 1968, by the following vote:

perty located in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEING all of Ldtts 2 and 3 and a portion of Lot 4 as shown on "Map of
a Subdivision of the lands of S. P. Fine In the Solis Ranch~'~ which
map Is filed for Record in Book '';:;::.211 of Maps at page 46 Records of
Santa Clara County, California, and being also all of Lots 27. 28, 33.
and a portion of Lots 12. 18, 25, 26, and 29 as shown on "Map of Henry
Miller's SubdIvision of Las Animas Ranch Lot 23" which map is filed
for Record In Book "H" of Maps at page 5, Records of Santa Clara
County, and being more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the intersection of Hecker Pass Highway
(shown as Bodfish Mill Road on said Maps) with the line
common to the Solis and Las Animas Ranchos (being also
the centerline of Morey Avenue or Anson Lane) and run-
ning thence along the centerline of Hecker Pass Highway
S. 700 36' W. 24.91 feet to the Intersection thereof with
the northerly prolongation of the I ine common to Lots 1
and 2 of said S. P. Fine Subdivision; thence along said
common lot line S. 40 30' W. 2999.50 feet to the southerly
common corner thereof; thence along the southerly line
of Lot 2 as shown on said Map S. 860 45' E. 395.34 feet
to the southerly common corner to Lots 2 and 3 as shown
on said Map; thence along the line common to Lots 2 and

In Resolution No. 951 of the City Council of said City
adopted August 4, 1965; thence along saId westerly
line N. 40 30' E. 33.17 feet to the northwesterly corner
of said Annexation in the northerly line of Hecker Pass
Highway; thence along the northerly line of the Hecker
Pass Highway and of said Annexation N. 880 45' E. 188.01 feet.
more or less, to the southeasterly corner of that certain
45.61 acre parcel of land described In the deed from
Harry G. Pappani and Katherine Pappanl, his wife,to
Felix A. Pappani, et aI, recorded May 28, 1951 under
Recorder's File No. 721722 In the Office of the Recorder
of Santa Clara County; thence along the easterly Tine
of said 45.61 ecre.percel N. 4059' E. 1,632.26 feet to the
northeasterly corner thereof; thence along the northerly
line thereof and the westerly prolongation thereof
N. 890 06' W. 1,222.15 feet, more or less, to the Intersection
thereof with the line common to the Solis and Las Animas
Ranchos, being also the centerline of Morey Avenue; thence
along said last mentioned line S. 40 59' W. 1,755.60 feet.
more or less, to the point of beginning, and CONTAINING
THEREIN 74.586 acres".
