RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION RELATING TO THE DETACHMENT OF
TERRITORY FROM THE GILROY RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DIS-
TRICT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy;
1. That it does hereby request the Santa Clara County Local
Agency Formation Commission to approve the detachment of the territory
described in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and made a part of this Reso-
lution, from the Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
2. That t~e ~propos61 J.s made plJJ'suant to the DIstrIct Reorganlz8tion
Act of 1965.
3. That the territory proposed to be detached is uninhabited.
4. That it is desired that the proposed detachment provide for
and be made subJect to the following terms and conditIons;
None.
5. That the reasons for this application are:
The territory described in "Exhiblt A" has been
annexed to the City of Gilroy. City Is prepared
to assume fire protection services in this ter-
ri tory.
6. That it is hereby requested that proceedings be taken for the
detachment hereinabove proposed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to file a
certified copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of the Santa
Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy on this
2nd day of January~ 1968, by the following vote:

WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 7th day of July, 1966, been
annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the des I gnat i on of "KERN- TATUM ANNEXATION
66-1 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the following described property located in the
County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEING a portion of Lot 38 as shown on "Map of Jas. A. Clayton &
Co's. Subdivision of Las Animas Ranch Lot No. 31 and a Part of
Las Animas Ranch Lot No. 30", which map is filed for record in
Book "V" of Maps at pages I and 2, Records of Santa Clara County,
California, and being more particularly described as follows:
"BEGINNING at the northeasterly corner of Lot 38 as shown on
said Mag, and running thence along the easterly line of Lot
38 S. 4 26' E. 195.60 feet to the northeasterly corner of
that certain parcel of land conveyed to Joe Munoz, et ux, as
described In Deed recorded In Volume 5720 at yage 552, Official
Records of Santa Clara County; thence along the northerly line
of said Parcel S. 880 35' 30" W. 389.20 feet to the intersection
thereof with the easterly line of Kern Avenue; thence along the
easterly line of Kern Avenue N. 10 24'30" W.204.08 feet to the
northerly line of Lot 38; thence along the northerly line of Lot
38 N. 890 54' 30" E. 378.80 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 1.759 acres in this annexation."
