RESOLUTION NO. 1210
RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION RELATING TO THE DETACHMENT OF
TERRITORY FROM THE GILROY RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DIS-
TRICT
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Co~cil of the City of Gilroy;
1. That it does hereby request the Santa Clara County Local
Agency Formation Commission to approve the detachment of the territory
described in "Exhibit All, attached hereto and made a part of this Reso-
lution, from the Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
2. Thot the proposal f.s made plJrsuant to the District Reorganization
Act of 1965.
3. That the territory proposed to be detached is uninhabited.
4. That it is desired that the proposed detachment provide for
and be made subJect to the following terms and conditions;
None.
5. That the reasons for this application are:
The territory described in IIExhtbit All has been
annexed to the City of Gilroy. City is prepared
to assume fire protection services in this ter-
ritory.
6. That it is hereby requested that proceedings be taken for the
detachment hereinabove proposed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to file a
certified copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of the Santa
Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.

2nd day of January, 1968, by the following vote:

WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 7th day of July, 1966, been
annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the designation of "KERN-TATUM ANNEXATION
66-2 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the following described property located in the
County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEING a portion of Lots 39 and 42 as shown on "Map of Jas. A. Clayton
& Co.'s Subdivision of Las Animas Ranch Lot No. 31 and a Part of Las
An i mas Ranch Lot No. 30", wh i ch map is f 11 ed for Record I n Book "V" of
Maps at pages 1 and 2, Records of Santa Clara County, California,
and being more particularly described as follows:
IIBEGINNING at the northwesterly corner of that certain parcel
of land described as Parcel Two in the deed to Rosa Martinez
Recorded in Volume 3999 at page 614, Official Records of Santa
Clara County, sat d point of beglnn ing be i ng in the center 1 ine
of Kern Avenue, distant thereon S. 00 07' 30" W. 150.00 feet
from the intersection thereof with the centerline of Tatum
Avenue as shown on said Map, and running thence along the
northerly line of said Parcel Two East 368.72 feet to the
northeasterly corner thereof in the westerly line of that
certain parcel of land conveyed by Jess J. Ford and Ellen
C. Ford, his wife, to Gene A. Artman and Louise Artman,
his wife, by Deed recorded July 10, 1947 In Volume 1439
at page 329, Official Records of Santa Clara County; thence
along the westerly line of said Parcel conveyed to Artman
S. 010 31' E. 434.05 feet to the southwesterly corner there-
of in the northerly line of that certain 5.625 acre parcel
of land conveyed to the Gilroy Union High School District by
Deed recorded July 9, 1962, In Volume 5638 at page 127,
Official Records of Santa Clara County; thence along the
northerly line of said 5.625 acre parcel West 381.12 feet
to the northwesterly corner thereof in the centerline of
Kern Avenue; thence along the ce.nterllne of Kern Avenue
N. 00 07' 30" E. 434.00 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 3.735 acres In this annexation".
