RESOLUTION NO. 1096
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO CANVASS THE
ELECTION RETURNS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION IN THE CITY OF GILROY TO BE HELD
APRIL 11, 1967, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION
22932.5 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE.
WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of California has
amended that part of the Elections Code applying to elections in
cities by adding thereto a new section designated as Sec. 22932.5
providing that the governing board of of a city may, by resolution,
duly adipted. before the date of the election, order the canvass of
the election returns to be made in city elections by the City Clerk
prmor to the first Tuesday after the election; and
WHEREAS, The Council desires that the canvass of the votes
cast at the municipal election to be held in the City of Gilroy
on April 11,1967, and all subsequent municipal elections, to be
made and conducted in accordance with Sec. 22932.5 of the Elections
Code;
NOW THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED
That the canvas of the votes cast at the said municipal election
be made by the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy in accordance
with Sec., 22932,5'of said Elections Code, and that said City
Clerk shall complete the canvass and certify the results to the
City Coupci1 prior to the first Tuesday following the election.
PASSED AND ADOPTED This 20th day of March, 1967, by the
following vote:
