RESOLUTION NO. 1177
RESOlUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE C1TY OF GILROY W'THDRAWING FROM THE GilROY
RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY ANNEXED TO THE
CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION "FARRELL AVENUE - 101 ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS. there has heretofore and on the 8th day of June, 1966,
been annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the designation of "FARRELL AVENUE
- 101 ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the fol lowing described property
located in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEING a portion of Lot 3 as shown on the Map of the Jas. A. Clayton
Subdivision filed for Record in Book "V" of Maps at pages I and 2,
Records of Santa Clara County, California, and being also a portion
of the Las Animas Rancho, and being more particularly described as

"BEGJNNI NG at a po i nt I n the centerl I ne of Farre 1 I Avenue
distant thereon N. 670 34' E. 272.13 feet from the most
southerly corner of Lot 3 as shown on said Map, said point
of beginning being also the most easterly corner of that
certain parcel of land described in the deed to Malcolm L.
and J. Kathryn Castleberry, his wife. recorded in Volume 3626
at page 357. Official Records of Santa Clara County, anS
running thence along the centerline of Farrell Avenue N. 67
)4' E. 333.97 feet to the most southerly corner of the certain
parcel of land described in the deed to Gabriel G. Leplane and
Carmen U. Lepiane recorded under Serial Number 465183 in the
Office of the Recorder of Santa Clara County; thence along the
southwesterly line of said Parcel N. 220 20' W. 100.00 feet to
the northwesterly corner thereof; thence along the northerly
line of said Parcel and the prolongation thereof N. 670 34' E.
475.00 feet, more or less, to the intersection thereof with the
northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad; thence along
said northeasterly line N. 220 20' W. 140.10 feet to the Inter-
section thereof with the northwesterly line of said Lot 3 pro-
longed easterly; thence along said prolongation and the northwest-
erly line of Lot 3 S. 670 34' W. 808.97 feet to the most northerly
corner of said parcel of land described in the deed to Castleberry
first above referred to; thence along the northeasterly line of
said Parcel S. 220 20' E. 240.10 feet to the point of beginning,
and CONTAINING THEREIN 3.37 acres".
and
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy were, at the
time of such annexation, included in and formed a part of the Gilroy Rural
Fire Protection District, and the Council of the City of Gilroy desires that
saId territory so annexed be withdrawn from said fire. protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory hereinbefore
described and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "FARRELL AVENUE - 101
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF GilROY" be and the same is hereby withdrawn from
said Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
