Resolution 1187 RESOLUTION NO. 1187 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING SALE OF 5.004 ACRES OF ITS CITY RE- SERVOIR lAND TO GILROY ELKS HALL ASSOCIATION FOR THE SUM OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND TWENTY DOLlARS. WHEREASz the Gilroy Elks Hall Association, a California cor- poration has offered to purchase from the City of Gilroy, 5.004 acres of land belonging to the City located in and forming part of its City Reservoir area, upon certain terms and conditions set forth in a written agreement dated the 2nd day of ~Q~mb~~, 1967, entered into between said parties, which said 5.004 acres are more particularly described in the attached copy of the Deed of Convey- ance proposed to be made by the City of Gilroy to the Elks Hall Association designated as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof; and WHEREAS, said 5.004 acre tract of land is serving no useful purpose to the City and is not required for any public use or pur- pose and notice of the proposed sale and terms thereof have been given by publication in the Gilroy Evening Dispatch a newspaper published in the City of Gilroy and no one has appeared at hearings held before the Council upon the advisability of selling said acre- age to object thereto and both parties desire and are ready now to conclude the said sale. NOW, THEREEORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the said City sell the said tract of land hereinbefore specifically described containing 5.004 acres of land to said Gilroy Elks Hall Association for the sum of Twenty-five Thousand Twenty Dollars ($25020.00) current law- ful money of the United States and that a Deed of Conveyance in the form of the attached copy which is made a part of this Resolution be executed on behalf of the City of Gilroy by its Mayor and deposited in escrow with the necessary instructions to be delivered to the said purchaser upon the payment of the purchase price. - 1 - II 87 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 1967, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Allemand, Duff i n, Kennedy, Jr. , Quart i ro 1 i , S i 1 va, Wentworth, and Goodrich.
