Resolution 1196 RESOLUTION NO. 1196 I'A RESOLUT ION OF THE CITY OF GILROY AMEND I NG SECT! ON III, D. OF THE CITY OF GILROY PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS." WHERAS: the Personnel Commission did study at considerable length the residency requirements for the city employees, and did recommend to the City Council for their consideration, and: WHEREAS the City Counci 1 did review said recommendation, and; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Section I I I, D of the City of Gi~ roy Personnel Rules and Regulations be amended to read: D. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants for employment must be citizens of the United State~. All employees must live within the Gilroy General Planning area, and within the Gilroy Telephone System, and in addition, the Pu- blic Safety (Police and Fire) personnel must live within a ten (10) mile radius from City Hall, and the Fire Department Person- nel are required to have a private telephone. An employee must move within this area within six (6) months following his pro- bationary period unless an extension of time is granted by the Personnel Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that this amendment shall become effective imme- diately.
