Resolution 1001 RESOLUTION NO. 1001 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF MARCH 21ST THROUGH MARCH 28TH AS "COUNT- DOWN 66 WEEK". WHEREAS, there has been an unusual and rapid population growth in Santa Clara County since the 1960 Federal Census; and WHEREAS, population estimates can no longer be used by cities re- questing certification for State subventions this year, it is recognized that an actual population count must be taken at this time; and WHEREAS, population and housing data useful for future decision-making are urgently needed by all levels of local government, sert~ce organizations, and businesses within the County, the County of Santa Clara, in cooperation with all of the 16 cities within the County, will conduct IICountdown 6611, a special countywide census starting March 21, 1966. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that in order to promote public aware- ness and cooperation with this worthy effort, the week of March 21st through March 28th, 1966, be known as "Countdown 66 Week." PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy this 21st day of March, 1966 by the follewing vote: AYES: NOE S : COUNCIL MEMBERS: Allemand,Duffin,Goodrich,Quartiroli, and Wentworth.
