RESOLUTION NO. 1004
RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GILROY TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PRO-
CEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Gilroy:
1. That the Council of the City of Gilroy, for the reasons
hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion
proceledings to annex to the City of Gilroy all of the territory
hereinafter described as uninhabited territory, under provisions
of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as set
forth in Sections 35300 to 35326, inclusive, of the Government
Code of the State of California;
2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate
said annexation proceedings are as follows:
The annexation of the hereinafter described territory will
contribute to the orderly growth of the City, provide the proper
control of the street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design,
and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall
zoning plan of the City.
3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex
is hereby identified as "RONAN AVENUE NO. 66-1 ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF GILROY", and consists of all of that real property
situated in the County of Santa Clara, State of California,
de.3cribed as follows:
DEUJG a portion of the "Map of the North Gilroy Tract" as
.shown on the map thereof filed for Record in Book "W" of
Maps at pages 14 and 15, Records of Santa Clara County,
Califonlia, and being more particularly described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the southwesterly corner of Lot 3 in
Block 4 as shown on said Map and running thence along
the southerly line of said North Gilroy Tract N. 880
35IE.464.46 feet to the southwesterly corner of that
c~rtain parcel of land described in the Deed to Eliza-
beth Williams recorded in Volume 981 at page 538,
Official Records of Santa Clara County; thence along
the westerly line of said parcel N.l025IW. 100.00 feet
to the northwesterly corner thereof in the centerline
of Ronan Avenue; thence along the centerline of Ronan
Avenue N.88035'E.826.54 feet to the intersection thereof
with the centerline of Lilly Avenue; thence along the

centerline of Lilly Avenue N.13029'W.189.90 feet to the
intersection thereof with the easterly prolongation of the
line common to Lots 1 and 4 in Block 3 as shown on said
map; thence along said prolongation and the northerly line
of Lots 11 2 and 3 in Block 3 and Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Block
4 S.88035'W.1251.30 feet to the northwesterly corner of
Lot 3 in Block 4 as shown on said Map; thence along the
westerly line of Lot 3 in Block 3 and the westerly line of
Lot 3 in Block 4 S.1025'E.285.70 feet to the point of
begirining, and CONTAINING THEREIN 6.485 acres.
4. That the City Administrator of the City of Gilroy is hereby
directed to cause the necessary proceedings to be undertaken and
completed which are required to annex the foregoing described
premises.
