RESOLUTION NO. 1067
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
UPON THE PASSING OF WALTER J. BANNAI SR.
WHEREAS, Walter J. Hanna, Sr., died on the 28th day of
November, 1966, in the City of Gilroy, County of Santa Clara,
State of California; and
WHEREAS, The said Walter J. Hanna, Sr. served the city
as City Engineer for a period in excess of twenty (20) years,
expiring in DeceWber, 1957, and during his long term as said
City Engineer, served this community honestly, ably and
energetically, and
WHEREAS, The members of the Council deem it fitting
and proper that a permanent record be made of the services
rendered the City of Gilroy by one who faithfully performed
his public duty and was in addition a highly respected citizen
always interested in the progress of the city and ready to
help therein,
NOW THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED That in the death of said
Walter J. Hanna, Sr., the City of Gilroy has lost one who
during his long term of public office served the city loyally,
capably and well, and his family and immediate relatives have
lost a devoted husband, parent and counselor, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a copy of this Resolution,
duly certified as such by the City Clerk of the City of
Gilroy be delivered to the surviving wife of said Walter J.
Hanna, Sr. and his surviving family.
