RESOLUTION NO. 888
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR AN ESTABLISHMENT
GRANT RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A LIBRARY
SYSTEM
WHEREAS, Article 6, Chapter 1.5 of Division 20 of the California
Education Code provides for the making of grants by the State
Librarian, State of California, to library systems organized pursuant
to Article S of the aforementioned law; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has established the Santa Clara
Valley Library System and desires to receive an Establishment Grant
in accordance with the provisions of Article 6, Chapter 10S of
Division 20 of the Education Code; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara Valley Library System has filed an
application with the State Librarian, State of Ca1ifornia~ for Annual
Per Capita and Establishment Grants in amounts authorized by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REZOLVED by the City Counci 1 of City of
Gi1roy~ County of Santa Clara, State of California, that the Mayor
of the City Council of the City of Gilroy, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, is authorized to execute a contract with the
State Librarian, State of California, providing for an Establishment
Grant for the Santa Clara Valley Library System.
