C 1 L-t' -. ~.~ ..@t...._.........-.o=..", RESOLUTION NO. ~_ RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY CONFIRIvIING REPORT OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS SETTING FORTH THE DESCRIPTIONS OF PROPERTY, THE OvfflERS THEREOF, AND THE COST OF ABATING THE NUISANCE CAUSED BY THE GROWING OF \VEEDS IN THE CITY OF GILROY AND PROVIDING THAT SUCH COSTS WILL CONSTITUTE SPECIAL ASSESSI~NTS AGAINST THE RESPECTIVE OViNERS OF LAND. WHEREAS the Council of the City of Gilroy has heretofore ordered certain weeds constituting a public nuisance in the City of Gilroy to be removed, pursuant to Sections 12.35 to 12.44 of the City Code, and, WHEREAS the said Council, on the 17th day of May, 1965, adopted Resolution No. 926 designating certain weeds growing in the City of Gilroy to be a public nuisance and after the passage of said resolution the Director of Public Works did cause notice thereof to be given in accordance with the provisions of Section 12.36 of the Gilroy City Code, which notice was in the form provided for in said Section, and fixed the 17th day of May, 1965, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, as the time and place for hearing objections or protests to the proposed removal of said weeds, and that said hearing was held in accordance with said notice and no one appeared to protest or object to said removal of said weeds; and, WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works of the City of Gilroy has submitted to the Council a written report of the proceedings and actions taken in the abatement of said weeds, which report sets forth that the weeds were abated or removed by the property owners from all of the parcels of land, in the City of Gilroy upon or in front of which weeds constituting a nuisance were growing, with the exception of thirty-eight (38) parcels and the names of owners of said thirty-eight 138) parcels, the descriptions thereof and the cost of removal of weeds from such respective parcels are as follows: 1- CJ!:3 ASSESS~~NT NUMBER 841-01-045 841-16-001 841-06-026 -841-05 -0JF7- 803-01-001 803-07-034 803-10-014 803-10-010 803-11-004 803-09-045 8H3 --10-Bt&- 803-10-057----- 803-15-005 786-30-003 -803-15-&2-6 786-30-028 786-24-054 -9-G6-3G-B-3-8- 803-24-021 841-14-010 841-14-011 841-14-012 786-26-011 786-26-010 786-30-024 803-06-036 mVNER Carl E. & Diane M. '-:'d :t."; 9 .18 -G,;. s.- Jack & Mary Kazanjian Ruhland, Edward A. & Louise et al 50.00 and, WHEREAS, it appears that said Director of Public Works caused an account of the cost of removing said weeds from each lot a parcel of land affected and that said account is correct and should be confirmed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the said report of the Director of Public Works of the said weed abatement, under the resolutions referred to, is hereby accepted and confirmed; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution and of said Report of Director of Public Works be turned over to the County Assessor and County Tax Collector which constitute the Assessor and Tax Collector, respectively, of the City of Gilroy, after the expiration of ten (10) days from the adoption of this Resolution, pursuant to Section 12.L~2 of the Gilroy City Code and the amounts shown -3- ""-i-"_,,;,'-'''~'..<,,,",i<#'~~,,.-,,_," on said report as the cost of the removal of the weeds from each of the respective properties shall be, and constitute a special assess- ment against the respective parcels and constitute a lien on the property for the amount of such assessment, respectively, and the said Tax Collector shall add the amount thereof to the next regular bill for taxes levied against respective lots and parcels of land for municipal purposes.
