RESOLUTION NO. ~ RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE POLICING AND CONTROL OF PUBLIC OFF-STREET PARKING LOTS IN THE CITY OF GILROY AND LIMITING THE PARKING TIME AND THE HOURS DURING WHICH PARKING TIME LIMITS SHALL APPLY ON PUBLIC OFF- STREET PARKING LOTS IN SAID CITY WHEREAS, Division 2 entitled "Public Off-Street Parking Lots" of Article 6 of Chapter l5 of the Gilroy City Code regulating traffic in the City of Gilroy, provides for the establishment of public off-street parking lots in the City of Gilroy in areas designated as such by resolution of the Council and also provides that the Council may by resolution regulate and control the parking or standing of vehicles in public off-street parking lots and limit the parking time and days and hours during which parking time limits shall apply on such public off-street parking lots; and WHEREAS, the Council has heretofore designated the following described areas within the City of Gilroy as public parking lots: 1. The premises belonging to the City of Gilroy located along the easterly side of Monterey Street adjacent to the north- erly boundary line of the premises of Wells Fargo Bank. 2. The premises located along the easterly line of Eigelberry Street immediately south of the Gilroy Telephone Company having a frontage of l24.59 feet and heretofore designated as Parking Lot "D" in the proceedings of the Council estab- lishing Parking District No. l. 3. The premises located along the easterly line of EigeIberry Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets having a frontage of llO feet and heretofore designated as Parking Lot "c" in the proceedings of the Council establishing Parking District No.1. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the authority vested in the Council by said portion of said Gilroy City Code hereinabove referred to, the Council does resolve as follows: 1. That the areas above designated as public off-street parking lots in the City of Gilroy are re-established as such public parking lots. 2. That the method of regulation and control of the public off-street parking lots and of standing vehicles in said public (1) C/& I off-street parking lots, including those above designated, shall be by traffic officers and police officers. 3. The parking of vehicles in public off-street parking lots and the days and hours during which parking time limits shall apply shall be and are hereby determined as follows: The parking time limit shall be two (2) hours during and between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day except Sundays and Holidays, and the City Administrator is hereby directed to cause appropriate signs or markings designating such parking time limits to be put in place on said above enumerated public off-street parking lots as are now in use where such signs are not already in place and upon the other off-street parking lot areas above designated or which may be hereafter designated when and as each is ready for public use as off-street parking lots.
