RESOLUTION NO, 971
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF SANTA
CLARA TO INCLUDE THE CITY OF GILROY IN THE SPECIAL CENSUS TO BE TAKEN IN THE
S PR I NG OF 1966
WHEREAS, the decennial census conducted by the Federal Bureau of
Census is now out of date as applied to the County of Santa Clara and the cities
of the County, and the County of Santa Clara is conducting a special census in
the Spring of 1966 in cooperation with and as a service to the cities under
the contract hereinafter referred to; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy deems it advisable, advantageous and
necessary that the census include that of the City of Gilroy and the County of
Santa Clara will include the said City in its special census upon the agree-
ment of the City to pay the County for such service the sum of Seven Hundred
Forty Four ($744.00) Dollars,
NOW THEREFOR~, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Gilroy does hereby
request that the County of Santa Clara include the City of Gilroy in the said
special census to be taken in the Spring of 1966, provided all other Cities
in said County enter into a similar agreement for said census, and upon the
taking of said census the City of Gilroy pay the said County of Santa Clara
the said sum of $744.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the agreement covering the taking
of the said census, now presented to the Council of the said City of Gilroy,
be and the same is hereby approved and that the said agreement be signed on
behalf of the City of Gilroy by Kenneth L. Petersen, the Mayor of the City
of G i I roy.
