RESOLUTION NO. 844
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MR. FLOYD M. EMERSON, DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT
OF THE GILROY ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICTS, UPON HIS RETIREMENT
AND THANKING HIM FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR CITY.
WHEREAS, Floyd M. Emerson, District Superintendent of the
Gilroy Elementary and High School Districts, retired on July 1, 1964,
after twenty-one years of continuous service with the School Districts, and;
WHEREAS, Mr. Emerson has made substantial contributions to the
high qual ity of our local school systems and has taken such a keen interest
and part in preparing our children for the responsibil ities of adult 1 ife,
and;
WHEREAS, Mr.. Emerson has gone beyond the requirements of his
profession and served with distinction upon the City Parks and Recreation
Commission, the American Red Cross Board, and local service clubs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Council
of the City of Gilroy acting in the behalf of the people of our community,
desire to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Floyd M. Emerson, upon
his retirement and to thank him for the fine contributions he has made to
our fair City, and to wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
