RESOLUTION NO. 728
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ACKNOWLEDGING THE RECEIPT OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO
CIRCULATE A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "FIFTH NORTHERN ADDITION" AND AN AFFIDAVIT
OF PUBLICATION THEREOF AND APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF
THE PETITION.
WHEREAS, on January 16 , 1963, there was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Gilroy a copy of a notice of intention to
circulate a petition relating to annexation of certain territory to
the City of Gilroy, under the Annexation Act of 1913, pertaining
to territory designated as "Fifth Northern Addition," accompanied
by a written statement containing reasons for the petitLon together
with an affidavit of publication of said notice in the Gilroy
Evening Dispatch; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the legislative
body may adopt a resolution acknowledgimg receipt of the notice and
approving the circulation of the petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Gilroy:
1. That the receipt of the notice, statement and affidavit is
hereby acknowledged, and that approval is hereby given for the
circulation of the petition for annexation of that territory desig-
nated as "Fifth Northern Addition," twenty-one days after the
publication of said notice and statement.
2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
