RESOLUTION NO. 735
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF JHE CITY OF GILROY REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY
COMMISSION TO CAUSE THE WIDENING OF HIGHWAY 101 BETWEEN MORGAN HILL AND GILROY
AND TO PROVIDE FOR LEFT HAND TURN LANES.
WHEREAS, traffic on Highway 101 has become increasingly heavy, and
WHEREAS, it is now hazardous to make a left hand turn on Highway 101
between Morgan Hill and Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, there are many accidents caused by the necessity of making
left hand turns off Highway 101 in this area,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in the interest of traffic safety,
the Council of the City of Gilroy does hereby request the State Highway Commis-
sion to cause the widening of this portion of Highway 101 and to provide left
turn lanes at the following intersections:
I. H ghway 101 ,and Watsonville Road
2. H ghway 101 and West Middle Avenue
3. H ghway 101 and East Middle Avenue
4. H ghway 101 and West San Martin Avenue
5. H ghway 101 and East San Martin Avenue
6. H ghway 101 and Highland Avenue
7. H ghway 101 and Church Avenue
8. H ghway 101 and Fitzgerald Avenue
9. H ghway 101 and Masten Avenue
10. H ghway' 101 and Buena Vista Avenue
11. Highway 101 and Day Road
12. Highway 101 and Farrell Avenue
13. Highway 101 and Las Animas Avenue
14. Highway 101 and Liman Avenue
15. Highway 101 and Ronan Avenue
