RESOLUTION NO. 794
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY EXPRESSING ITS WILLINGNESS
TO JOIN WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY TO FORM A
LIBRARY SYSTEM AND TO APPLY FOR AN ESTABLISHMENT GRANT.
WHEREAS, the 1963 Legislature has adopted a program of
financial assistance to libraries, including Establishment Grants for

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of
the City of Gilroy does hereby express its willingness to join with
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara in establishing
a library system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City
of Gilroy desires to join with the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Santa Clara in applying for an Establishment Grant in accordance
with the provisions of the Public Library Development Act of 1963 in
Chapter 1.5 of Division 20 of the Education Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of December, 1963, by the
fol lowing vote:
AYES: COUNCil MEMBERS: Duffin, Eckard, Goodrich, Jordan,
Quartiroli, Wentworth, and Petersen.
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
