RESOLUTION NO. 605
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
WITHDRAWING FROM GILROY RURAL FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT OF CERTAIN TERRITORY HERETOFORE THEREIN
WHICH HAS BEEN ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the ninth day of
February, 1961, been annexed to the City of Gilroy under the
designation of FIRST SOUTHERN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GILROY
the following described property located in the County of Santa
Clara, state of Californiai to wit:
All that certain real property situate in
the County of Santa Clara, State of Cali-
fornia, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of
the center line of Tenth Street with the
center line of Rosanna Street, running
thence Southeasterly along the Southeaster-
ly prolongation of said center line of
Rosanna Street, 64 feet more or less, to
the point of intersection thereof with the
Southeasterly City Limits line of the City
of Gilroy and the true point of beginning
of the tract to be described, said true
point of beginning being on the Northeast-
erly line of that certain 41.722 acre tract
of land described in the Deed from C. N.
Smith to Frank Filice et ux, dated February
15, 1952, recorded February 15, 1952 in Book
2366 of Official Records, Page 302, Santa
Clara County Recordsi thence from said true
point of beginning Southeasterly along the
said Northeasterly line to the Southeaster-
ly corner thereof in the Southerly line of
Ranch Lot 16, as shown upon Map No. 7 ac-
companying The Final Report of the Referees
in the Partition Action of Henry Miller et
al vs. Massey Thomas et al in the Superior
Court of the State of California, in and for
the County of Santa Clara, Case No. 5536i
thence Easterly along said last-named South-
erly line to the point of intersection there-
of with the Southwesterly line of state
Highway u. S. 101,as said Southwesterly
line existed in 1960i thence Northwest-
erly along said Southwesterly line of
State Highway U. S. 101 to the point of
intersection thereof with said South-
easterly City Limits linei thence South-
westerly along said Southeasterly City
Limits line to the true point of begin-
ning.

WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy
were, at the time of such annexation, included in and formed
a part of Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District, and the
Council of the City of Gilroy desires that said territory so
annexed be withdrawn from said fire protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT said territory hereinbefore described and so an-
nexed to the City of Gilroy as FIRST SOUTHERN ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF GILROY be, and the same is, hereby withdrawn from
said Gilroy Rural Fire Protection District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED the 20th day of February, 1961 by the
following vote:
