RESOLUT ION NO. 609
RESOLUTION FIXING TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
RECOMMENDATION AND REPORT OF CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION UPON PROPOSAL INITIATED BY CITY
COUNCIL TO AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 480
BY ZONING FIRST SOUTHERN ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF GILROY AND REZONING CERTAIN ADJACENT
TERRITORY ALONG TENTH STREET FROM ZONE "B"
TO ZONE "C".
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy has on its own
initiative proposed that Ordinance No. 480 (Zoning Ordinance) of
the City of Gilroy be amended by placing in and making a part of
"e" District, all that portion not heretofore zoned of the following
described premises located in the City of Gilroy, to-wit:
"BEGINNING at a point in the southeasterly line of
Tenth Street, distant thereon N. 700 001 E. 620.67
feet from the intersection thereof with the center-
line of Rosanna Street as shown on said maps, and
running thence along the southeasterly line of Tenth
Street N. 700 001 E. 469.88 feet to the intersection
thereof with the southwesterly line of the Monterey
Road (state Highway IV-SCl-2); thence along the south-
westerly line of Monterey Road S. 200 231 30" E. 35.32
feet, S. 180 221 30" E. 606.13 feet and S. 200 151 30"
E. 1157.55 feet to the northeasterly corner of the por-
tion of Princevalle Storm Drain Right of way conveyed
to the County of Santa Clara by deed from the Arnold
Day Corporation; thence along the northerly line of said
Right of Way S. 890 551 50" W. 479.46 feet; thence N. 200
l5t 30" W. 1635.33 feet to the point of beginning."
and by placing in said "C" Zone all that part of the said premises
above described now in "B" Zone; and,
Also placing in and classifying all that portion of the
following described premises located in the City of Gilroy, as "B"
Zone, not heretofore zoned:
"BEGINNING at the intersection of the southeasterly line
of Tenth Street with the centerline of Rosanna Street and
running thence along the southeasterly line of Tenth Street
N. 700 E. 620.67 feet; thence leaving the Southeasterly
line of Tenth Street S. 200 15 I 30" E. 1635.33 feet to a
point in the northerly line of princevalle Storm Drain Right
of Way as conveyed to the County of Santa Clara by deed from
the Arnold Day Corporation; thence along said northerly line
S. 890 551 50" W. 667.41 feet to the northwesterly corner of
said land conveyed to the County of Santa Clara; thence along
the projection of the centerline of Rosanna Street N. 200 011
30" W. 1407.80 feet to the point of beginning."

AND, WHEREAS, said Council of the City of Gilroy has referred
the proposal to so amend the said Ordinance to the Planning Commission
of the City of Gilroy for its examination and recommendation there-
on, and said Planning Commission has held a hearing upon said
proposal, after having given due notice thereof in accordance
with law, and has made its report to the City Council in which
it recommends that said Ordinance No. 480 be amended in accordance
with said proposal.
AND, WHEREAS, the law requires that a Public Hearing be
held upon such proposal to so amend said ordinances before the
City Council after ten (10) days notice of the hearing has been
given by publication and by posting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the 3rd day of April,
1961, at the hour of 8:00 O'c10ck P. M., in the City Council
Chambers in the City Hall, Sixth and Rosanna Streets, Gilroy,
California, be fixed as the time and place for the Public Hearing
before the said City Council upon the proposal for said amendment
to said ordinance at which time and pla ce anyone obj ecting thereto
may appear and show cause why said amendment shall not be adopted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, notice of said hearing be
given by publication and posting as is required by law and
ordinance of the City of Gilroy.
ADOPTED AND PASSED the 20th day of March, 1961, by the
following vote:
