Resolution No. 617
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ALLOCATING
THE VARIOUS CLASSES OF POSITIONS IN THE CITY SERVICE TO
APPROPRIATE RANGES IN THE BASIC PAY PLAN, AS PROVIDED FOR
IN SECTION III OF ORDINANCE NO. 567 ADOPTED ON MARCH 3, 1958.
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Personnel Commiss-
ion that the prevailing wage rates for public and private em-
ployment in the area have risen, and
WHEREAS, the Council adopted Resolution No. 595 on
February 15, 1961, which became effective January 1, 1961,
granting an increase to all city employees except certain
officers in the General Service of the City, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to maintain
City salaries on a relatively competitive level with the
salaries paid to public and private employees in the area,
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the following pay ranges be applied
to the several classes of positions in the City Service.

Resolution No. 595 and No. 554 are hereby rescinded.
