Resolution 622 RESOLUTION NO. 622 RESOLUT[ON OF THE COUNCIL OF THE C~TY OF GILROY INSTRUCT[NG THE DIRECTOR OF PUBL[C WORKS TO ABATE NUISANCE ARIS[NG out OF WEEDS GROW[NG UPON LOTS OR IN FRONT OF PROPERTY IN THE C[TY OF GILROY AS REQU[RED BY SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE 635. WHEREAS, the Counci 1 did, on the 1st day of May, 1961, adopt Reso- ~ lution No. 621 declaring certain weeds growing in the City of Gilroy to be a public nuisance, describing weeds which constitute such nuisance, and providing for the giving of notice of the adoption of the Resolution by publ ication thereof in aCQord- ance with Ordinance No. 635 of the City of Gilroy providing for the abatement of weeds which constitute a nuisance; and, WHEREAS, the said Resolution complied with Section 2 of said Ordin- ance No. 635 and said Resolution was duly published for two (2) successive days in the Gi lroy Evening Dispatch, the dates of publication being May 3rd and 4th, 1961; and, WHEREAS) after the passage of the foregoing Resolution the Direc- tor of Publ ic Works caused a notice to be conspicuously posted on or in front of or within fifty (50) feet of any lot, piece, or parcel of land on which or in front of which such weeds constituting a nuisance existed, and where two (2) or more lots, pieces or parcelsof land on which or in front of which such nuisance existed were contiguous such notice was posted thereon or in front thereof and not more than fifty (50) feet or less than twenty-five (25) feet apart, which notices were in the form set fJrth in Section No.3 of said Ordinance No. 635 and provided that property owners having any objections or protest to the proposed removal of such weeds should attend a meeting of the City Counyil to be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Sixth and Rosanna Streets on the 15th day of May, 1961 at ~he hour of 8:00 o.clock, any such objections to be heard and be given due consideration; and, WHEREAS, the said notices were posted at least five (5) days prior to the said 15th day of May, 1961, the date fixed for hearing objections, and, WHEREAS, the said Counci I has not proceeded to heur said objections or pzotests, if any, to the said weed abatement and no one appearing before this ses- sion of the Counci 1 to protest or object to said weed abatement proposed; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, and it is hereby ordered, that the DireC) tor of Publ ic Works abate such nuisance by having the weeds refered to in said Reso- ~Z~ -1- lution No, 621 and in the said notice hereinbefore refered to removed, in accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance No. 635, PASSED AND ADOPTED THE 15th day of May, 1961, by the fol lowing vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Duffin,Goodrich,Jordan,Petersen,Wentworth, Quarti rol i , NOES: COUNC[L MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNC[L MEMBERS: Sanchez .} . / ,,..---. ..<- c ,. ~. <-< .-z<J '-. / ,-.,:J Mayor Pro-Tempore .~...."_,,,.~~..~,.'N" -"..... ~-p<- 'J ->Z.1 -1 ATTEST: I, SUSANNE E.
