RESOLUTION NO. 653
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF~E CITY OF GILROY APPROVING
AMENDMENT TO THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
REROUTING A PORTION OF A 86 FOOT THOROUGHFARE RUNNING
FROM THE MESA ROAD TO TENTH STREET AND DOWN TENTH STREET
TO MONTEREY STREET AND THENCE OVER A EASTERLY PROLONGA-
TION OF TENTH STREET TO PACHECO PASS ROAD, SO THAT SAID
THOROUGHFARE FROM TENTH AND CHURCH STREETS WILL EXTEND
DIAGONALLY TO THE INTERSECTION OF NINTH AND MONTEREY
STREETS AND THENCE OVER NINTH STREET IN AN EASTERLY DIR-
ECTION TO ITS INTERSECTION AT THE PACHECO PASS ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy has
heretofore adopted a Resolution whXh has been certified to the
Council of the city of Gilroy approving the Adoption of an Amend-
ment to the Circulation Element of the General or Master Plan of
the City of Gilroy, whth said Plan consists of a Map entitled,
"General plan of the City of Gilroy Circulation Element", and whim
Map shows the general location and extent of existing and proposed
major and minor thoroughfares, freeways and expressways, together
with a report entitled, "Report Accompanying the Circulation Element
of the General plan of the city of Gilroy", and which said Amendment
consists of a rerouting of a minor thoroughfare 86 feet in width
originally extending from the Mesa Road to Tenth Street in the city of
Gilroy and thence down Tenth Street and its easterly extension to the
Pacheco Pass Road so that said portion of said thoroughfare easterly
of Church and Tenth Street will extend from said point to the inter-

section of Ninth and Monterey streets in the city of Gilroy and thence
easterly upon and along said Ninth street to it's intersection with
the Pacheco Pass Road: and
WHEREAS, the Council of the city of Gilroy did heretofore fix
Monday, the 6th day of November, 1961, at the hour of 8o'clock P.M.,
in the council Chambers in the city Hall, No. 10 Rosanna street,
Sixth and Rosanna streets, Gilroy, California, as the time and place
for hearing of said report of the said Planning Commission recommending
the adoption of said amendment to the said Circulation Element of the
Gpneral plan and notice of the said hearing has been given in the manner
and, for the period required by law, and the said report and matter
coming on regularly to be heard at the said time and place heretofOre

specified and the Council having duly proceeded to hear the said
report
; and
WHEREAS, the said Council has fully considered the matter of
adopting the said Amendment and believes the adoption thereof is in
the public interest and to the advantage of the ctty of Gilroy.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of
Gilroy does hereby adopt and approve the said proposed Amendment
to the said Circulation Element of the General Plan rerouting the
~id portion of the said thoroughfare hereinbefore mentioned.
PASSED AND ADOPTED the 6th day of November, 1961, by the
following vote:
