CITY OF GILROY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 654
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy desires to provide for a
planning study contributing to an over-all program for future
community development, the preservation of community values,
the prevention of conditions tending to cause urban blight,
and the promotion of the general health, safety and welfare of
its citizensl and,
WHEREAS, the State Department of Finance under authority
of Chapter 1641, Statutes of 1959, may provide planning assistance
for sueh a program and receive financial assistanee trom the
Urban Renewal Administration, as authorized by Section 701 ot
the Housing Act. of 1954, as amended (Public Laws, g;rd Congress);
now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gilroy
hereby requests the State Department of Finance to provide
planning assistance under authority ot Chapter l6~l, Statutes
of 1959, with such financial assistance as may be provided by
the Urban Renewal Administration, under authority of Section
701 of the Housing Act of 1954. as amended (Public Laws g60,
3;rd Congress). That such planning assistance is more particularly
described in a project description that 1s attached hereto and
made a part of this resolution as if fully set forth herein.
THAT, the City Council of the City ot Gilroy, subject
to approval of such planning assistanee by the State and Federal
authorities, hereby authorizes:
payment to the State Department of Finance of a
sum not to exceed $300.00 and,
use of personnel of the City of Gilroy for
technical assistance in this project, which
assistance has an estimated value of $900.00.
THATi the total estimated cost of the City of Gilroy'S
project as panned is $3,600.00.
THAT, the Mayor of the City of Gilroy be, and he hereby
is . authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City
all necessary applications, contracts, and agreements to implement
and carry out the purposes specified in this resolution.
