RESOLUTION NO. 679
CITY OF GILROY RESOLUTION DECIARING THAT PROJECT
FOR THE PROCURING AND INSTALIATION OF SIX INCH
WATER MAIN AND EIGHT INCH SEWER LINE ON CHURCH
STREET FROM HOWSON STREET TO WELBURN AVENUE CAN
BE DONE MORE ECONOMICALLY BY DAY IABOR AND THE
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FURNISHED AT A LOWER PRICE
ON THE OPEN MARKET THAN CAN BE OBTAINED BY SUB-
MITTING THE PROJECT TO BIDS.
WHEREAS, The City of Gilroy is about to undertake a
Project for the securing and installation of a six (6) inch
water main and an eight (8) inch sewer line on Church Street
from Howson Street to Welburn Avenue in the City of GilroYi
and,
WHEREAS I it is the considered opinion of this Council
that said Project can be performed more economically by day
labor and the materials and supplies required in the said
Project can be obtained at a lower price in the open market,
than the Project will cost if submitted to bids under the
provisions of Section 37902 of the Government Codei
NOW, THEREFORE I BE IT RESOLVED:
That the said Project shall be done and the materials,
supplies and labor secured and furnished therefor without
advertising for bids, as permitted by Section 1109 of the
Charter of the City of Gilroy governing such cases.
