RESOLUTION NO. 714
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY REJECTING AND
ABANDONING OFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR THAT PART OF THE CIRCULATION
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PIAN EXTENDING FROM lOth AND CHURCH STREETS
IN A DIAGONAL DIRECTION TO 9th AND MONTEREY STREETS AND THENCE
ALONG 9th STREET TO THE EASTERLY CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GILROY
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Gilroy,
California, has heretofore proposed that Plan Lines be established
for that part of the Circulation Element of the General Or Master
Plan extending from Tenth and Church Streets in a diagonal direc-
tion to Ninth and Monterey Streets and thence along Ninth street
to the Easterly City Limits of Gilroy, as set forth on the map
prepared and submitted by the City Engineer entitled "City of
Gilroy Circulation Element of t he General Plan Official Pian
Lines for Tenth street to Monterey Street", dated March, 1961, and
WHEREASg the said Council did heretofore fix Monday, the 19th
day of March, 1962, at the hour of ~:OO o'clock p.m. in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall at 6th and Rosanna streets in the City
of Gilroy as the time and place for holding the hearing upon the
said report of said Planning Commission and due and legal notice
of said hearing having been given as required by law and having
been regularly continued from time to time until the 19th day of
November, 1962 at the said hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., and
WHEREAS, the said Council did, after the adoption of the said
report by the said Planning Commission, refer to the said Planning
Commission a proposal for an alternate route for the Easterly
extension of lOth Street by which said route would follow lOth
street to Monterey street and then continue on the Easterly prolong-
ation of lOth street to its intersection with Pacheco Pass Road
and hearings have been held by the Planning Commission which adopted
the said alternate route and made its recommendation to the Council
thereon and the Council has held hearings upon the said proposal
and has also adopted the said alternate route and desires to
abandon the proposal to have said route follow 10th Street to Church
and thence to 9th street by the diagonal route and continue along

9th street to the Pacheco Pass Road, and the said proposal last
mentioned, now coming on for hearing before the Council .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposal to adopt
official Plan Lines for that part of the Circulation Element of
the General Plan extending from lOth and Church Streets in a
diagonal direction to 9th and Monterey Streets and thence along
9th street to the Easterly City limits of the City of Gilroy, be
and the same is hereby rejected and the proposal abandoned.
