RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 7
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ENDORSING
THE CONCEPT OF THE NON PROFIT HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy is dedicated
to fostering equal housing opportunity, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that low and moderate
income people are having great difficulty securing adequate housing,
WHEREAS, a group of citizens from South Santa Clara County
have asked for support in establishing a non profit housing develop-
ment corporation, for the purpose of developing low and moderate
income housing in South Santa Clara County;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Gilroy encourages the efforts in forming a non profit housing
development corporation.
FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council directs staff
to assist the corporation consistent with appropriate city regula-
tions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy,
this 20th day of February, 1979, by the following vote:
