RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 27
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING
THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION
COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOp~mNT ACT FUNDS
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979-80.
I..JHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides
for the disbursements of funds from the Local Transportation Fund
of the County of Santa Clara for use by eligible claimants for the
purpose of Community Transit Services for Senior Citizens; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have
been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation
Agency of the State of California in accordance with the provisions
of the aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant wishing to
receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund shall
file its application with the appropriate transportation planning
agency; and
WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be
required to provide escort services for Senior Citizens of Gi1rov.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Gilroy that
the City Administrator is authorized to execute and file an appro-
priate claim pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Develop-
ment Act of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules
and regulations promulgated thereunder, together with all neces-
sary supporting documents, with the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission, for fiscal year 1979-1980 Transportation Development
Act monies.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution
be transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in
conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan

Transportation Commission be requested to concur in these findings
and grant the allocations of funds as specified herein.
