RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 31
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY REQUESTI~G
ASSISTANCE FROM THE OFFICE OF LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOP}~NT IN
STRENGTHENING GILROY'S INDUSTRIAL BASE.
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy recognizes its need to main-
tain a proper balance of residential, commercial and industrial
land uses within its boundaries to promote orderly economic growth
and prevent unemployment; and
WHEREAS, the recent growth of the residential community
requires a corresponding growth in the commercial and industrial
sectors; and
~VHEREAS, the Office of Local Economic Development of the
Department of Economic Business Development of the State of Ca1if-
ornia has programs available to help cities foster and encourage
their commercial and industrial growth.
NOW, THEREFOP~, BE IT PESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Gilroy does hereby request the assistance of the Office
of Local Development in strengthening the vita1itv of the commer-
cial and industrial sectors of the City's economic base through
its appropriate programs and grants.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of April, 1979, by the
following vote:
