RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 39
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
TO PEID1IT A PARADE WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Bonanza Days' Committee has requested
to hold a parade on June 10, 1979 at 12:00 o'clock noon, along
the following route:
The parade route, as proposed will line-up at
9:30 a.m. on Eig1eberry Street from Eighth
Street to First Street, then at 12:00 o'clock
noon will proceed west on First Street (Route
152) to Wren Avenue and terminate south on Wren
Avenue at approximately 1;30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Chief of Police shall assume the res-
ponsibi1ity of traffic control during this even; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved this parade and
routing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Gilroy
hereby and respectively requests the permission of the State of
california, Department of Transportation, Division of Highways
to allow this parade.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1979, by the
