Resolution 1979- 44 ~ r . . !!- ~ RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A COHPREHENSIVE PLAT\lNING ASSISTANCE GRANT FOR SPECIFIC PLt\NNING OF THE TRANSITION AREA, FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979-1980. ~VHEREAS, the City of Gilroy and ~ounty of Santa Clara have entered into an agreement to establish a transition zone around the City of Gilroy where future urban growth is most likely to occur; and \~EREAS, the development of the transition area is to be guided by specific plans jointly adopted by the City and County; and ~ffiEREAS, a preliminary screening of the City's proposed "Transition Area Precise Planning" program by the State Office of Planning and Research ranked it No. 1 in the State for "projects that promote orderly growth"; and WHEREAS, a grant award of $15,000. of Hun 701 funds is available for this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy, that the City Council authorizes the City Adminis- trator to execute a formal application for the award described herein.
