RESOLUTION NO. 79-50
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY DETE~MINING PUBLIC
NECESSITY FOR :r:v1EDEVAC, AAA AMBULANCE COMPANY, AND
STEPHENS AND POLETTI AMBULANCE Cm1PANY TO OPERATE
WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY.
vTHEREAS, Gilroy's present ambulance service (Gilroy Ambulance
Company) has advised the City they are discontinuing business as of
July 1, 1979; and
'VlliEREAS, it is paramount and in the public's best interest
and welfare to maintain an adequate ambulance service within the
community and surrounding area.
NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Gilroy City Council
hereby finds the public necessity to license new ambulance operators
for the City of Gilroy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following companies are hereby
certified as being necessary for the community's health and welfare
and acceptable for licensing by the City: (1) Medevac, for emer-
gency transportation; (2) AAA Ambulance Company and (3) Stephens and
Poletti Ambulance Company, for non-emergency transportation.
