RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING TIlli MAXIMUM RATE SCHEDULE TO BE CHARGED
BY ~1ED EVAC AMBULANCE WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY
WHEREAS, Gilroy City Code Sec. 3A.4 provides that the Council
shall establish and keep on file with the City Clerk a maximum rate
schedule which may be charged by ambulance operators licensed under
Chapter 3A of the City Code and that said rates shall be established
by a Resolution; and
WlffiREAS. the City Council has duly considered the rates to be
charged by MEDEVAC and good cause appearing therefore:
nou. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following schedule of
rates be and the same is hereby adopted as the maximum schedule of
charges to be made by MEDEVAC ambulances in the City of Gilroy,
co~nencing July 1. 1979 and continuing until such time as this
schedule may be changed by further resolution of the Council:
1. Base Rate $105.00
2. Hileage $ 3.50/mile
3. Night Fee (1900-0700 hours) $ 15.00
4. Emergency Response (Code 3) $ l5.00
5. Definitive Care* N/C
6. Electrocardiogram* $ 15.00
7 . Oxygen $ lO.OO
8. Waiting time per 15 minutes
After initial 15 minutes N/C
*The rates will be applied only when and if authorized by a paramedic
base hospital ("Resource Hospital") for patients requiring paramedic
level medical procedures as defined in Health & Welfare Code, Section
1482 et seq and further defined as:
IV therapy
Intubation
Administer County approved medications
Obtain venous or arterial blood samples
L~ote: Contrac tor agrees to proportionately reduce the rates of items
1, 2, 3, and 4 if more than one patient is carried.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 78-34, adopted
June 5. 1979, is hereby rescinded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that cupies of this rate schedule shall
be filed with the City Clerk and posted in a conspicuous place in
each ~ffiDEVAC ambulance and in all premises where said ambulances
are stationed.
