RE5CI.UTION NO. 79-76
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE REGISTRATION
OF BURGLAR ALARM SYSTEMS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
that the following regulations shall apply to the registration
of burglar alarm systems with the Police Department pursuant to
Gilroy City Code Section 16.34(e):
1. The actual occupant(s), whether owner(s) or
tenant(s). of each premises in which any mechanical or electrical
device for the detection of unauthorized entry is maintained shall
be be responsible for registering such burglar alarm with the
Police Department.
2. The registrant(s) shall furnish on forms provided
by the Police Department:
(a) Name(s). address(es) and phone number(s) of
the owner(s) of premises and, if different, the tenants
in possession.
(b) Name. address and phone number of the company
which installed the alarm, and, if different, the
company which maintains the alarm.
(c) The names and phone numbers of responsible
persons able to respond to the premises and deactivate
the alarm within twenty (20) minutes of police notifi-
cation.
3. Registrant(s) shall notify the Police Department
within ten (10) days of any change in the required information.

4. Failure to furnish the required information
within ten (10) days after a Police Department request shall
be a violation of City Code Section l6.34(e).
