RESOLUTION NO. 79-80,
RESOLUTION OF TIlli COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
CERTIFYING THAT THE DRAFT MASTER ENVIRONr1ENTAL
IMPACT REPORT, AS AMENDED, FOR 1~E PROPOSED
GENERAL PLAN FOR THE CITY OF GILROY IS ADEQUATE
UNDER THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT.
WHEREAS, after study and public hearings, the Planning
Commission has by its Resolution Number 79-41 recommended certi-
fication of the Draft Haster Environmental Impact Report as
adequate for the proposed General Plan for Gilroy, with a
suggestion for further study of air quality, and
WHEREAS, the Council has conducted a public hearing
on the issue on this date, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds the Draft Master Environ-
mental Impact Report to be adequate with the following amendments:
1. All comments from other agencies shall be included.
2. Duncan and Jones shall provide additional information
on Solid Waste and Air Pollution.
3. Page 13 shall be changed to read "Possible Impact of
School Facilities due to Growth".
4. Page 21. line 5 shall be changed to read "traffic
congestion and possible impaction of schools".
5. The response to the State inquiry on Solid Waste
was in error. and a correct response should be given.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that, with the above
amendments. the Council of the City of Gilroy certifies the
Modified Environmental Impact Report for the proposed General
Plan for the City of Gilroy as adequate under the California
Environmental Quality Act.
