RESOLUTION NO. 79-92
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
DISAPPROVING A TENTATIVE MAP FOR A CONDOMINIUM
CONVERSION OF APARTMENTS AT 8500 and 8530 WREN
AVENUE .
WHEREAS, application TM 79-4 has been made by ROSEMARIE
PEOPLES to the Planning Commission for approval of a tentative
map for a concominium conversion of 30 apartments at 8500 and 8530
Wren.
WHEREAS, after a public hearing the Planning Commission
has approved a Catagorical Exemption under the California Environ-
mental Quality Act and has passed Resolution No. 79-51 in which
it recommends approval of the tentative map subject to six con-
ditions, and
WHEREAS, the Council has held a public hearing on the
application and has considered the Planning Commission recommen-
dation and the evidence presented;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Gilroy that:
1. The Planning Commission should not have approved the
tentative map for the following reasons:
(a) This proposal will further contribute to the
City's existing low vacancy rate for rental units.
(b) This proposal will reduce the number of
dwelling units available to those residents who cannot
afford private ownership.

2. The tentative map is disapproved.
