RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 94
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ENDORSING
AND SUPPORTING THE SOUTH SANTA CLARA COUNTY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION'S LAND ACQUISITION PROPOSAL TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE
COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND-
ING.
WHEREAS, in 1974, the United States Congress enacted
the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, herein called
Act; and
WHEREAS, Title 1 of the Act authorizes the allocation
of Community Development Block Grant herein called CDBG funds for
site acquisition for development of housing for low and moderate
income families; and
lNHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy recog-
nizes the need for additional low and moderate income housing in
the City of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Gilroy acknow-
ledges the South Santa Clara County Housing Development Corpora-
tion's goal to develop housing for Gilroy's low and moderate income
families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of
the City of Gilroy endorses and supports the South Santa Clara
County Housing Development Corporation's proposal to request FY
1980-81 and 1981-82 CDBG funds to acquire sites in the City of Gil-
roy to develop housing for low and moderate families.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Gilroy this 19th day of November, 1979, by
