RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 113
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COln~CIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING
FILING OF APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy desires to undertake a certain
project designated Police-School Delinquency Project to be funded in
part from funds made available through the Juvenile Justice and De-
linquency Prevention Act of 1974 (PL 93-415), as amended, (here-
after referred to as the Juvenile Justice Act) administered by the
Office of Criminal Justice Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Administrator
of the City of Gilroy is authorized, on its behalf to submit the
attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcement Purnoses to
OCJP and it authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Gilroy
the attached Grant Award for law enforcement purposes including
any extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to pro-
vide all matching funds required for said project (including any
extension or amendment thereof) under the Juvenile Justice Act and
the rules and regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration and that cash will be appropriated as required there-
by.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant law enforcement expenditures contro1-
led by this body.
