RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 2
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY APPROVING THE
PRIORITY PLAN FOR EXPENDITURE OF ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO THE COUNTY
OF SANTA CLARA FOR PARK, BEACH, RECREATIONAL AND HISTORICAL PRESER-
VATION PURPOSES (CALIFORNIA PARKLANDS ACT OF 1980).
~IEREAS, the people of the State of California did, at
an election on November 4, 1980, adopt the "California Parklands
Act of 1980" (Public Resources Code Sections 5096.141, et seq.),
said Act becoming operative on December 1, 1980, and
WHEREAS, this Act provides for an allocation of $85,000,
000. for grants to counties, cities and districts for the acquisition,
development, or restoration of real property for park, beach, recrea-
tional and historical resources preservation purposes pursuant to the
allocation formula contained therein; and
vlliEREAS, the amount to be allocated for expenditure with-
in the County of Santa Clara has been determined to be the sum of
$4,488,206. to be spent in accordance with a "priority plan for expen-
diture" approved by the County Board of Supervisors and at least fifty
per cent (50%) of the cities and districts representing fifty per cent
(50%) of the population of the cities and districts within the County;
and
WHEREAS, the required consultation between the County of
Santa Clara and all the cities and districts within the County has
occurred and a formula for allocating the local share of this 1980
State Park Bond Fund has been prepared as shown on Exhibit "A" attach-
ed hereto, allocating forty per cent (40%) of the County's grant for
regional parks and open space and sixty per cent (60%) of said grant
for local city parks;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Gilroy does approve this priority plan for expendi-
ture and formula for allocating the local share of said funds, as
specified herein.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of January, 1981, by
the following vote:
