RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 103
A P~SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY RESCINDING
EXECUTION OF THE JOINT PO~~RS AGREEME~T AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT
TO UNDERTAKE OR ASSIST IN THE UNDERTAKING OF ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES
PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF
1974, AS AlffiNDED WITH A THREE YEAR TERM TERMINATING JUNE 30, 1985
AND: RESCISSION OF CITY OF GILROY RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 85.
WHEP~AS, the Congress of the United States of America has made
changes to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended
through the Housing and Community Development Amendments of 1981; and
TNHEREAS, such amendments are viewed by the City of Gilroy as
being substantial; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy believes that these recent amend-
ments should be considered in the required Joint Exercise of Powers
Agreement and related Acknowledgement Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Gilroy does hereby rescind the Joint Exercise of Powers and
Cooperative Agreement relative to the qualification of Santa Clara
County as an Urban County under the (HCDA) Act and also Resolution
No. 81-85 by which this agreement was adopted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Gilroy this 16th day of November, 1981, by the following
