RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING
THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE METROPOLITAN T~~NSPORTATION
COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1981-82.
~mEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides
for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transportation Fund
of the County of Santa Clara for use by eligible e1aimants for the
purpose of Community Transit Services; and
WHEP~AS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have
been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation
Agency of the State of California in accordance with the provisions
of the aforementioned legislation, an eligible claimant wishing
to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund shall
file its application with the appropriate transportation planning
agency; and
WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund will be
required to provide Paratransit Services for Seniors and Handi-
capped in the South County Area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Gilroy that
the Mayor is authorized to execute and file an appropriate claim
pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development Act of 1971,
as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations pro-
mulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting docu-
ments, with the Hetropolitan Transportation Connnission, for fiscal
year 1981-82 Transportation Development Act monies; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution
be transmitted to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in con-
junction with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan Trans-

portation Commission be requested to concur in these findings and
grant the allocations of fund as specified herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be appointed
as legal counsel for said agency with authorization to sign the
certification on page 1 of said application.
