RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 41
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REQllliSTING APPROVAL OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF T~NSPORTATION, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO
PERMIT A PARADE WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, the I.F.D.E.S. Portugese Society of Gilroy has
requested to hold a parade on May 24, 1981 at 9:00 o'clock a.m.,
along the following route:
The parade route, as proposed will line-up in the
7200 blocks of Forest Street at 9:00 a.m. proceed
from Forest and Old Gilroy Streets west into Seventh
Street and on to Eigleberry Street; then north to
First Street into St. Mary's Church, terminating at
the point of beginning at approximately 1:00 otc10ck
p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Gilroy Chief of Police shall assume the res-
ponsibility of traffic control during this event; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved this parade and
routing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Gilroy
hereby respectively requests the permission of the State of Calif-
ornia, Department of Transportation, Division of Highways to
allow this parade.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 1981, by the
following vote:
