RESOLUTION NO. 81 - 47
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY ENDORSING CONCEPT
FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY WITH SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA.
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Gilroy Unified School
District has declared that all schools of said District are impacted; and
1~EREAS, said District has and is attempting to mitigate
said impact by exploring all available options to alleviating said impact,
including the leasing of relocatable classrooms, year-round schools, changes
of attendance boundaries and joint use and development of additional educa-
tional facilities with private business and industry and other governmental
agencies, such as the City of Gilroy and the County of Santa Clara.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Gilroy shall
cooperate with the Gilroy Unified School District and the County of Santa
Clara to jointly develop a school-park site on land presently owned by the
Gilroy Unified School District on Kern Avenue, County of Santa Clara, Calif-
ornia, for the purpose of providing an elementary school, a continuation
high school and a park on said site, and shall take all actions necessary
to implement the development of said schools and park with the Gilroy Uni-
fied School, the County of Santa Clara', and other governmental or private
agencies or persons interested in said development.
